I have a variety of accomplishments across multiple speedcubing events throughout my time as a self-taught speedcuber.
I have seven years of experience with speedcubing and competing. In that time, I have been ranked in Canada's Top 50 list in two events (7×7 Cube [#47], 3×3 Fewest Moves [#32], plus a #51 ranking in 6x6 Cube) and Top 100 in four events (5×5 Cube [#67], 6×6 Cube [#51], 7×7 Cube [#47], 3×3 Fewest Moves [#32]). My current rankings can be found here, and my peak rankings can be found here. I have participated in the 2019 and 2025 Canadian Championships, 2022 North American Championship, 2023 US Nationals (at the time the largest competition ever held, at 1028 competitors). I placed 11th at the FMC Canada 2025, the Canadian Championship for the 3×3 Fewest Moves event, and 2nd at my venue.
A lot of this experience came from slow, meticulous learning, trial-and-error, and deliberate analysis of every aspect of my solving. This gives me a clear picture of what the optimal way to learn how to cube should be. Combined with my prior experience as a mathematics tutor, I can present these ideas clearly and engagingly. From my relationship with many of the country's top speedcubers, I am sure that you will not find a service in Waterloo Region that beats my level of experience, both as a speedcuber and a teacher.
This club is designed for people ages 6 and over, but this is not a hard rule. A little lower is also okay!
This is course-dependent, but all sessions are between 45 minutes and 1 hour long. However, it is possible to combine sessions. For example, if you are taking "3×3 Beginner Tutorial," which has four 45-minute sessions, we can combine that into two 90-minute sessions. Please let me know in the registration form if you would like to do this.
You have the option to have in-person or online courses. In-person tends to be easier for both student and instructor.
In-person: University of Waterloo (specific location sent via email)
